Amazon buy shipping refund to buyer
So a buyer is wanting a refund from me for shipping I charged them for a next day package. I checked the tracking (UPS) and it is late. It's suppose to be delivered tomorrow so it'd be 3 days. I have no problem adjusting the shipping for the buyer. But, since I used the Amazon buy shipping on the order to purchase the shipping, shouldn't Amazon cover this? How does this work? I refund the buyer an amount (difference btwn next day and 3-day price) then file a Safe-T claim to get my money back?

The help pages direct you to not refund the shipping charges but instead direct the customer to file a service guarantee claim directly with the carrier.
This obviously will result in a dead end for the customer and will likely anger them as UPS is not going to refund a person that paid shipping to a seller that bought shipping on an Amazon account. The shipping charges paid to UPS would not be the same as what the customer paid the 3rd party seller either.
I would direct them back to Amazon considering buy shipping was used and Amazon says that they cover any delivery related issues when shipped on time.
