OTP text Overkill
Anyone else being sent a one time password every time they log in? Despite having checked the box to not require a password on this browser, and checking it again each time? The security bots appear to have switched to a piecework payment model

Have you got your browser set to delete cookies each time you close it?

Same problem here. We are using few PC’s to log into Amazon and while on some you do not need to have an OTP, my PC requires it every time. Doing it for a few months already, got used to it.
Clearing cookies did not help.

This was happening to me too - I think the fix was to click “Don’t require OTP on this browser” through my Amazon buyer account settings (as opposed to through seller central)

hi guys
here is the solution
after logging in go to settings>login settings> Two-Step Verification (2SV) Settings >edit >save your computer in order to avoid OTP.

Might be worth trying a different browser - I find Chrome seems to be more reliable.

I have this, everytime .
Im used to it now TBH and about 18 months ago was subject to a fraud on Amazon so am going to keep it as is.
There is an app you can download on your phone which makes things a lot quicker called Authenticator.

It’s happened to me a few times, clearing cookies has always resolved it

Thanks all for the replies. After reporting it to Amazon yesterday, and trying all the suggestions above, I thought it may be fixed as it seemed to have stopped… But just now it happened again. These are generally all happening on the same device (android phone) and browser (chrome)… So not exactly an obscure choice that might be a bit unstable.
Amazon’s response was initially finest gibberish, but eventually:
"Hello from Amazon Selling Partner Support,
I understand that the system is defaulting to require a two step verification code every time you sign in despite having checked the box.
Please be informed that next time you enter your code on your computer or device, tell us not to ask for a code on that device in the future by clicking on the check box next to Don’t ask for codes on this device.
This setting may reset itself for a number of reasons beyond Amazon’s control, so we’ll be unable to help you with any issues that you may experience; however, we can tell you that the following are known actions that may interfere with this feature:"
It then lists a number of possible causes, none of which is actually relevant.
My concern here (and I’m lucky enough that I have never experienced my account being hacked) is the phrase “beyond Amazon’s control”. If there are benign malfunctions of the OTP security system that are “beyond Amazon’s control” then how good a system is it?
