Trading and declared as dormant

Hi all !

I decided to have a look at a particular competitor of mine due to its extremely low price on certain items , and I ended up finding that they’re declared as dormant at HRMC and yet trading on Amazon. Well, tax evasion is illegal and Amazon is being used as a platform to do so.
At the end of the day these cowboys will never pay any local tax. This is a subject that I have seen being discussed even before selling through Amazon.

I am taking about a specific case but there’s dozens of them around.

Is this something that should be of concern to Amazon?

" It may come as a surprise, but anyone of any nationality can start a business in the UK . You don’t need residential status or even to be living in the country. The only stipulation is that the company must be registered to a UK address. … Foreign nationals can easily acquire an address to register with Companies House."

thats actually no surprise and nor should it be as long as they pay taxes here like you would if you stored and sold outside of the UK

have you checked the company name to see if they reopened a new company ?

what is the name of the company ?

I don’t know if this is of any relevance but uk companies cannot use UK gb or similar in their company title ( this was the case when I worked in Companies House and I don’t think the rule has changed
