Building International Listing - Failing

Hi,

Has anyone had this issue with the BIL tool?

I’m trying to sync my UK seller account with my US account, and my products aren’t synchronising because “You are blocked or suspended from selling in the target marketplace”.

My US account was reactivated last week after being suspended for about a year due to verification issues (that’s another story), so it’s in good health.

I’ve been back and forth with seller support but they are just send me stock information about the BIL tool, with none of the replies address my actual issue, even after including screenshots etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I must admit, I was under the impression that the BIL tool didn’t work for the USA account, but I could be wrong.
It does however take some time after they unsuspend an account, for things to go back to normal.
I would suggest that you contact the performance team, to ensure that it’s all been lifted.

The BIL tool will not CREATE new listings - it only matches your offer from the source marketplace to an existing listing on the target marketplace. As such it also does not translate as it does not create a listing.

Basically, when you have a product to sell, you should search on Amazon for the product. If it exists you add your offer to that listing. The BIL tool works in exactly the same way but its automated between the source and target marketplace - it will synch prices (based on an exchange rate) and stock levels, but does nothing else. You have to be careful that the product it matches on the target marketplace is actually correct. I once had an issue where it matched to a completely different product because the EAN of the product on the target marketplace was wrong.

However, the product must exist on the target marketplace. If it does not then you have to create the listing yourself on the target marketplace. You can ask Amazon to do a translation of a listing (for a per word fee I believe) or do it yourself - but this is not a function of the BIL tool.

Now a few years ago you could only use the BIL tool in your source marketplace region (i.e. Europe or N America). You could not use it and have a European site as Source marketplace and a N. American site as a Target marketplace. This may have changed but was certainly the case a few years ago as I created a N. American account before realising this and SS said it was not possible at that time. I think this has now changed but you need to check.

If you are using it then do not not forget that you have to setup Shipping Settings in each target marketplace you use. Your UK Shipping Settings will not be used if the item is sold on the US marketplace for example. That was another mistake I made in the early days. Also, you will be bound by Amazon policy that if you do not have a return address in the target marketplace, then you have to offer free return shipping. So anyone who buys off you on the US marketplace can return the item within 30 days at your expense.

The above is based on my personal experience and is why I no longer do international on Amazon.
