🎨 Sell Your Designs with Merch on Demand
Hello sellers,
If you're a designer, artist, or creative entrepreneur, there's a way to sell on Amazon without ever managing stock, packaging, or shipping. It's called Merch on Demand, and it's worth knowing about.

What Is Merch on Demand?
Merch on Demand is Amazon's print-on-demand service. You upload your original artwork, choose a product type, set a list price, and Amazon handles the rest — printing, fulfilment, customer service, and returns. You earn a royalty on every item sold, with no upfront costs and no inventory to manage.
This makes it a particularly accessible option for sellers who want to test creative product ideas without financial risk.
How It Works
- Sign up — Use your existing Amazon selling account or create a new one
- Upload your artwork — Make sure it's original, high-resolution, and doesn't infringe on any existing trademarks or copyrights
- Choose your product and set your price — Select from available product types and set a list price that reflects your desired royalty
- Go live — Once reviewed and approved, your product will appear in the Amazon store
- Earn royalties — When a customer purchases your product, Amazon prints and ships it, and you receive your royalty
Understanding the Fees
In addition to standard Amazon selling fees, Merch on Demand products carry additional charges:
- Merch Collab referral fee: 5% (across all product categories)
- Brand royalty: 15% of the total sales price
- Minimum brand royalty: £1.50 per sale
Amazon deducts these percentages from the total sales price (including the product price and any delivery or gift-wrapping charges, excluding taxes). For a full breakdown, visit the Amazon Merch on Demand Overview.
Why It's Worth Considering
- No upfront investment or inventory risk
- Amazon handles production, shipping, and customer service
- Your designs can reach millions of customers in the Amazon UK store
- Royalties are paid automatically — no invoicing or billing admin required
- A low-risk way to test creative product ideas before committing to larger inventory

I tried ages ago, and again just now. Both times I received an automated rejection.
"We appreciate your interest, but your account request has been declined. We thank you for taking the time to introduce yourself to us and encourage you to check out selling options on Amazon."

Please no more advice if completely detached from reality.
I sell tshirts and mugs on Etsy and my own site. I applied for Amazon Merch and I was immediately rejected. No reason given. There was no time for anyone to actually check my portfolio. I was told I can't apply again for the rest of my life. OK, you might say your designs are bad, well they have been selling elsewhere and I see some awful stuff on Amazon Merch with designs that are not even centred properly and several copyright infringements. What are the criteria to be accepted? Or is it just the usual bot that randomly decides in one minute?

Tried it, doesn't work, listings are not shown and not purchased.
Amazon are getting really desperate for sales now??? Try dealing with some of the issues that good sellers have raised on here time and time and time again

You decided that our t-shirt design company did not demonstrate sufficient experience in the field of t-shirt design to be granted an account.

You didn't come to the public announcement. I have a product at home and I don't know how to make it and then order it from China and send it to Amazon FBE so I can sell it. Can you help me?
