Inbound Transportation Charge vs inbound placement service fees

I created FBA shipments, and Amazon charged me for inbound placement service fee per shipment ID. However, when I check the Payments Reports Repository, I also see Inbound Transportation Charge.

Can anyone explain why I have two charges? Or how different for both of them?

Hi @Seller_3t5EBKYACsNMD,

Thank you for reaching out with this question, happy to help clarify!

FBA inbound transportation charges are shipping charges for using Amazon's partner carrier to send inventory. You can read more about this balance adjustment right here.

The FBA inbound placement service fee for standard and large bulky sized products reflects the cost of distributing inventory to fulfillment centers close to customers. When you create a shipping plan, you’ll see a fee estimate for each available inbound placement option. You’ll be charged the FBA inbound placement service fee 45 days after your shipment is received, based on the inbound location and the quantities received. You can read more about these inbound placement fees in this help page.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

All the best,

Jameson
