Multiple Trading Names & Brands, One LTD Business.

Question:

I have 2 trading names for my registered business. Do I need a separate account for each trading name, or can I have 2 stores, 1 for each brand in my main account? And if so, how would I do this?

Each trading name has it's own brand and operates separately to eachother so listing products together in one shop won't work in terms of branding. (Organic foods is one, watch engravings is another).

In most cases, you do not need separate seller accounts for separate trading names, as long as they operate under the same legal entity. Amazon allows multiple brands to be managed within one seller account.

If each trading name has its own registered brand, you can create separate Amazon Stores for each brand under the same account (assuming both are Brand Registered). This allows you to keep branding completely separate from a customer-facing perspective.

Separate seller accounts are generally only permitted when there is a clear operational need and Amazon approval, as operating multiple accounts without justification can lead to compliance issues.

So structurally, one account with separate brand storefronts is usually the correct and compliant approach.

Hello there @Seller_DZinmKIjqc6s8, and welcome to the Seller Forums!

Thanks to Global_Variety for the clear answer and guidance above. For the sake of thoroughness, I'm also going to link the Comply with Amazon’s Multiple Account policy Seller University module, which specifies when there would be legitimate reasons for having multiple selling accounts according to Amazon’s Selling Policy and Seller Code of Conduct.

Hope this helps!

We have 2 registerd brands under our legal entity Limited Company - as long as there's a clear distinction between the two and what they sell it's fine.
