Negative balance but closing down LLC

Hi

I’m in the midst of closing down my LLC (and my intention is not to get any of my assets), but I still have negative balance on my FBA account (ca. -180.00 £) - since I am not liable for my company, can I just ignore this?

when you say closing down do you mean going bankrupt ?

Generally speaking companies cannot be wound down while they have debts. Depending on whether this is a UK company Amazon could theoretically object to your company closure and then file insolvency against you for unpaid debts.

Again, if you are a UK company you’d have a company insolvency against your director record and potentially if CH thought you were behaving particularly badly could be struck off as a director - although this is extremely unlikely.

Hi Chester_City
You will not be able to close an account with an outstanding balance albeit positive or negative for this very reason.
With a valid card on file Amazon should be able to reclaim what is owed them.
If you have no intention of paying, down grade the account to individual (if on the pro selling plan) delete all listings and mark all marketplaces as inactive as there is nothing else you can do.
Amazon will then decide whether or not to take legal action.
