New Price Per Unit requirements for Consumables
Amazon is implementing new data requirements you should follow regarding Price Per Unit (PPU) information to deliver an accurate and consistent experience. PPU information is required by law and used by customers to compare and evaluate products during their shopping experience.
Starting 23 July 2020, products sold within the Consumables product types listed below will require your new listings to include the unit count and unit_count_type attributes, which were previously optional. Product updates will show errors for ASINs that do not follow the new PPU requirements.
Unit count includes a value (unit_count, for example: “5”) and a unit type (unit_count_type, for example: “ounce”, “count”, “gram”). The unit count type will be restricted to the following units:
UK: gram | meter | millilitre | square metre | count
DE: Gramm | Meter | Milliliter | Quadratmeter | Stück
FR: gramme | mètre | milliliter | mètre carré | unité
IT: grammo | metro | millilitro | metro quadrato | unità
ES: gramo | metro | mililitro | metro cuadrado | unidad
PL: gram | metr | mililitr | metr kwadratowy | sztuk
TR: gram | metre | mililitre | metrekare | birim
NL: gram | meter | milliliter | vierkante meter | stuk
The scope of this change includes any product-level data submissions, whether through Excel templates, Seller Central, or XSD feeds. Existing ASINs without unit_count information or with incorrect values in the unit_count_type attribute will require this information when listings are updated. You must provide this information for your data submissions to be accepted.
The change will be applicable on 23 July to all product types within the following larger Consumables product types:
- Beauty
- Grocery
- Health and Personal Care
The change will be applicable on 6 August to all product types within the following larger Consumables product types:
- Food
- Beverage
- Cleaning Product
- Paper Product
- Prescription Drug
- Alcoholic Beverage
- Prescription Eyewear
- Pet Supplies
