Read onlyi am new to amazon and so far i am finding it very complicated. i am selling products that are already on amazon but mine are near or past their best before date. i just can't find where i can put this so that when customers click on my item it shows them the best before date.
I am not sure if there is the option to include those date in your listings if they are NEW goods. But surely if they are past the best before date you should not be selling them anyway , or am I missing something ?
Sounds like a recipe for disaster. Buyers don't tend to read any details past a few words in the title. If you could add a best before date, it is unlikely buyers will see that and you may be inundated with returns, AtoZs, bad reviews, etc. Not that I have any experience selling out of date products on Amazon, just pointing out the worst case scenario. Forewarned is four legged.
If this is an existing listing, then what you are wanting to do is not possible. Amazon is a catalogue system and essentially everyone should list against the same product listing. As such a best before date, that would then apply to apply to all sellers.
If it’s your own listing, then you could include that info, though it would have to be your own product.
You simply can’t include condition notes for new products, and not sure it would even be possible if you listed something consumable used.
If you are shipping by Amazon FBA then I don't think they ship products close or past their expiry date.
If you are shipping yourself then you are opening yourself up to a world of hurt. Customers will complain, you will get returns and A-Z's. You may even get product condition complaints which can have an impact on your account.
There is no way to tell customers the items may be expired or close to being expired on Amazon.
Understand the product is okay to be sold but I don't think Amazon is the place for this.
The absolute minimum shelf life for FBA is 90 days, so you can't deliver anything into Amazon with less than that. Their policy varies by product category and covers instances such as...
"At the time of check-in at Amazon fulfillment center, all products must have a remaining shelf life that allows sufficient time for the product to be consumed in full, plus an additional 90 days. For example, a bottle of supplements with 240 daily servings must have a remaining shelf life of 240 days and an additional 90 days, which makes 330 days"
Not sure what you are selling, but you can find the criteria for all categories on seller central. You wont be able to add any date info for sure, if you are selling items that are already on Amazon, as more than likely you wont be able to edit those listings at all. Again, if you are FBA, when items have only 50 days shelf life remaining, Amazon automatically mark them as "expired", and the inventory has to come back to you or be destroyed. Amazon being Amazon, the removal process can take more than 50 days, so when you get the stock back, hanging out of the worst quality outers on the planet, it's out of date. Tough game this, cant lie. Saying that, as a consumer, I wouldn't be happy if I bought perishable product and it came to me with less than 16 weeks life, so I do get it.
Came across this looking for something else which i think is clear enough:
"Items in any of the following conditions are unacceptable for listing on Amazon.co.uk
Your time on Amazon will be very short, find other products.
