Return was empty box

Customer has just returned an empty box on a £20 item. Its been sent may RM 48 tracked by the customer independently of the returns label Amz normally use (Hermes).

Does anyone know if there is a way I can tell from the tracking reference what the weight of the paid for item was?

Attachments show RM’s response. Also the weight of the empty box return (corresponds to posted weight) of 60g, and the true weight (nearer 130g), I have explained to the customer and opened a support ticket (just in case there is an A-Z case opened.

Customer just replied with this:

If package got damaged or lost in courier then there is nothing I can do.
I have spoken to trading standards and they did advise me to report this which is what I will do.
This is a scam and you are defrauding me because I clearly sent.
The item was absolutely rubbish so why would I send Empty box?
You are stealing from me and if I don’t get refund by end of today then I will report this to trading standards and my credit card company.

We explained in reply the following:

It was not lost or damaged in transit. The return postage corresponds to the empty box weight. We have provided proof of email from Royal Mail.
The full box weight would be 130g.
We are very happy to refund the item if you are indeed unhappy with it but cannot refund an empty box.

So after providing irrefutable proof to the customer that the item I returned weighed only 60g They threatened trading standards.

They said that they had already phoned trading standards and I know that it is impossible to get through to trading standards so obviously smelt bull.

They then went down the A-to-Z route as expected and I provided approved to Amazon and lo and behold this morning Amazon have denied the dispute claim. I can only assume there is a pattern of this buyer opening claims and potentially other sellers saying items returned with empty boxes but maybe not defended them
