Mistakenly cancelled an order
I had a bad day yesterday, I cancelled an order as I could not find the item to be posted. I saved the buyer’s address and the 17 digit order number , just incase the item turned up… and it did after a thorough search through my inventory. Great I thought, then I realised all the contact details had vanished as soon as I had cancelled the order.
No worries I thought, contact amazon with its customer centric approach, I will be able to reintstate the order or at least message the buyer
No such luck. A telephone call from customer support was uninteliigble on a bad line. the chat service cut out on me twice and finally a representatitive “helpfully” suggested that I contact the buyer throught the buyer seller email system!! (sorry all customer details have vanished)
And of course the bottom line was that the order once canclled could not be rolled back.
Its probably not the end of the world, but you would have thought seller support could have helped a bit, their final reply was pitiful, “if the customer contacts you, they can buy the item again if you relist it!!” (yes but so could 10 million other amazon customers
Just waiting for the inevitable poor feedback

I really don’t think there is anything Seller Support can do once you have cancelled an order. I don’t think there is any method to reinstate a cancelled order. Even if they did this it may annoy the customer as they may have ordered an alternative from somewhere else.
Most of us will run out of stock now and again or be unable to find an item. It is not the end of the world and one cancelled order shouldn’t be a problem. Maybe leave it a little longer next time before you cancel the order if you believe you may have the product.
