How to Proceed with INR Enquiry?

I knew there was going to be a problem with this order as soon as I’d despatched it.
On morning of 23rd March I despatched an order to address on file, using Amazon Buy Shipping label 2nd class RM
On evening, I received a message from buyer asking if I could contact the RM and get them to change the address (?!)
I replied, stating that as per Amazon policy the item had already been posted to the address on file, and, that the RM does not facilitate amending addresses after despatch.
The buyer has now messaged me saying she hasn’t got the item
(AAGGHH!!)
She’s asked me to contact her sorting office regarding the items whereabouts
She says she’s checked (presumably to the address on the label) and it has not been delivered there
I’ve researched the address, it looks like it could be student accommodation, it’s clear she’s forgotten to update with her address.
I think this is her responsibility but will Amazon see it that way?
Where do I stand with this one?
Any advice on how to reply to her would be appreciated
Although it’s past EDD as it’s a parcel rather than a large letter I feel it’s a little early to be alarmed alot my my items of this size are taking at least a week these days
How to I tell a buyer politely that this is like looking for a needle in a haystack?
I’m leaning towards telling her she’ll have to wait until the parcel is “returned to sender” then we can either resend or refund

Even if it genuinely wasn’t delivered, it may never come back to you…

If it was me I’d ask her to wait a few days while you get Royal Mail to check with the tracking and see if it magically gets delivered to her friend in that dorm.

But in all likelihood you’ll have to refund, if it goes to A-Z she will win, and it will count against you.

If its a parcel have you checked for delivery confirmation?

Unfortunately without tracking proving delivery to the address on the order Amazon will find in her favour on an A-Z - they would probably find in her favour even with tracking.

How did you buy the postage?

If bought online 2nd class parcels come with a delivery confirmation - won’t be proof enough for Amazon but at least would put your mind at ease.

I’ve asked her to check the sort office “only 5 mins walk away” from the property
If it’s not there I’ve advised her to wait until it comes back to me
She may accept this, we’ll see
