FBA Referral Fee - Headphones increased from 7.14% to 15.3%!!!
We have been selling on Amazon for over 17 years, and the referral fee for Headphones & Earphones has consistently been at 7%, with an increase to 7.14% in recent years.
Without notification, we have noticed all our Headphone listings have increased to 15.3% (a +114% INCREASE!!). This understandably has killed any margin.
After some comms with our account manager at Amazon, the referral fee change has been confirmed as a worldwide change.
We can tell other sellers are not aware of this change as no price increases have been made, therefore a lot of us are currently oblivious we have been losing money on sales.
Has any other seller in the Electronics category received knowledge / comms of this change??

Amazon have made a lot of changes to referral fee rates, they seem to be balancing them out so they are similar across product ranges.
Other sellers will cotton on eventually, and be forced to increase their prices so this should restore margins, its just a case of how long they take to realise.

We have a case open with Amazon and so far they have failed to show us where this change was publicly made.
I will be raising a complaint to the managing director and I would urge other sellers to do the same. While amazon are perfectly in their rights to charge whatever the like to not even provide notice of a 114% increase is unacceptable

This is something I have realised today. Referral fee has gone considerably up. Is this change only to headphone categories or any other category also affected? I am not sure

Have you gotten somewhere with the cases as we have been informed that this has been implemented worldwide and it is irreversible?
I suppose from now on 15.3% is the fee for headsets/headphones :(
I am wondering how long till everyone notice that they are selling with no margins left... obviously not everyone is on board as we've lost buy box on all listings.
