Amazon not charging EU delivery charges

Hi - Just wondered if anyone else has this problem. It seems that the majority of customers that I ship orders to in Germany and France aren’t being charged delivery charges. All of my listings show an additional delivery charge when I view them at my end - I thought this was a standard Amazon delivery cost that would find its way back to me on each transaction - but I’m being left out of pocket of over 80% of my non-UK sales because I’m picking up all the shipping costs apparently. Some transactions do have the delivery charge added as I had assumed.

The average product value is €20 - €25 and the delivery cost shown on the listings is usually €5.70 but isn’t being charged most of the time. I’m jumping through the usual hoops with seller support on email - which I find next to useless, but they still can’t explain why it is happening.

I did manage to speak to one seller support agent directly on the phone (who usually are pretty helpful), and it ended up that she sent me a screenshot of my listing from her computer which didn’t show the delivery charge on amazon.de and I sent her a screenshot of the listing from my end which did show the delivery charge on amazon.de - but she couldn’t explain to me why that was happening.

Any ideas? Have you experienced anything similar? I’m on the verge of increasing all of my EU listings, making them hugely unattractive as amazon will still display the shipping cost in the listing.

Thanks in anticipation, David

Doesn’t Amazon show delivery charge based on delivery address and the shipping template for the site?

This could be why the page showed different delivery charges on your computer and the CS computer as presumably the delivery address would be for different countries.

Have you set the shipping template on all the EU sites? You need to change the site on the dropdown at top of screen then go to Settings, Shipping and create a shipping template for each site.

As the standard template is to offer free shipping to the home country, then, if you have not changed it, German customers ordering off amazon.de would get free shipping.
