How to package greetings cards for FBA

Hi, I’m just starting out with Handmade on Amazon and I was thinking of trying FBA. My question is, how much protection is needed for greetings cards that are sold separately? Is a sealed cellophane bag sufficient or do they need some sort of cardboard envelope? Thanks!

The Moore protection you can put on, the better. We have cardboard boxed clips and ouch pocket which we thought should be OK! WRONG!

Totally mangled. Got loads of returns, we now put them in mail bags before sending in.

One thing to bear in mind with FBA is not just your item is stuck in their warehouse (cost etc) for selling but also when not selling. Plus how it is handled. You need to watch the video about 6ft drop protection.

Hello Blue22,

While there are no specific packaging suggestions for greeting cards, you should ensure that anything sent to the FBA service is packaged so as not to be damaged during transit, storage or fulfillment. AS pointed out by Onemore, this should be balanced with the cost implications for fulfillment, as any increase in weight or size of your products, will affect the fees charged on them.

I suggest going through some help pages such as this one HERE showing various videos on packaging suggestions for various types of products, or this one HERE which goes over the specific packaging requirements.

I would finaly review the rate card for the FBA service available HERE and the general Pricing page HERE to gauge the affect of the type of packaging you choose to your costs.

I hope this is somewhat helpful.

Regards,
Alex
