Duplicate content (bullet points) in multiple listings

Hello guys

I have heard that having the same product description on multiple listings will hurt the Amazon SEO and Amazon penalizes the listing. I was wondering whether this is true or not?

In my experience, I don’t think that’s true. Surely it’s impossible to prove or disprove anyways? Therefore how can anyone state with any confidence one way or another as to wether it’s true or not? I’ve used identical bullet points on multiple listings for donkey years and it’s never been flagged in any way. Hope this helps.
