Impossible to "request permission"
Anyone care to explain why it seems to be impossible to list even a simple CD without being asked to request permission and then being asked to supply some stuff I don't even understand? This happens with at least half the cds I try to list if not more and even when I've requested permission and by some small miracle its been granted straight away, I return to the listing and am asked again to request permission!!? It's a CD ffs, what is the issue? I've been with Amazon since the late 90s and its gradually got more and more complicated, time to go methinks! Comments welcome x

Yes, happens all the time with media items - some labels especially.

It's not just CDs, it's also books and games. I have been selling on here for 15+ years, it used to be a really good place to sell but over the last couple of years more and more of the things I try to sell (which I have been selling happily for years) won't let me list them as it comes up 'you need approval to sell this item'. If you try to get approval it just says that they are not granting approvals at this time (or something along those lines). I have given up trying to list anything and just cancelled my Pro. Account.

I have just found out by chance when checking my inactive inventory that Amazon has forcibly closed dozens of my CD abd vinyl listings, many of which have been listed for several years.
These are all used CDs and vinyl records but Amazon is demanding this:
Request selling approval for policy compliance
Reason: Product requires approval to sell.
To fix this:
Submit documents
At least 1 purchase invoice for products from a manufacturer or distributor
Document must meet the following requirements:
Dated on or after 15 Mar 2025 (within 180 days)
How can anyone supply such documents for used CDs that are out-of-print and have already been listed on Amazon for a lot more than 180 days?
It is absurd and insulting.
Most of these titles are now 'unavailable' on Amazon.
How does that help buyers looking to purchase these rare discs?

Hello again.
Can you explain why some sellers are still allowed to list USED CDs and discs from the affected brands while others are having long-standing listings removed?
Why are ANY used items from these brands allowed to be listed if a recent 'purchase invoice for products from a manufacturer or distributor' is required?
It is IMPOSSIBLE to obtain recent invoices for used CDs and other media.
So why has the USED category for items from these brands not been suspended altogether?
i have been seriously thinking about moving away from Amazon after twenty years of selling here and this could well be the final straw.

I hear that! I'm in the same situation after maybe over 25 years on Amazon! Perhaps Vinted is the answer now x

Yes, I've had the same mesmerising/confusing/nonsense experience! You'd think the bite they take from sales would be enough!? Maybe Vinted as its developing now is the answer!
