Brand approved...GTIN or no GTIN?

I have just had my own brand approved. I’m planning on selling via FBM initially but then will probably move to FBA. Assuming I need to apply for GTIN exemption for FBM but if I then move to FBA, am I right in thinking I need GTINs then? How would I switch if the product is already active on Amazon?

No
If you are applying for a gtin exemption, it covers the asin - not the sku so once you’ve created the asin with a gtin exemption, you can list on it as fbm and fba
However, as there is no barcode, you will have to label your fba stock with fnsku labels

When you say switch if the product is already active on amazon, do you mean switch it from fbm to fba ?
Or switch the barcode ?
