Customer claims they received a brick
Looking for any solutions to this issue. Sold an electrical item, customer has now come back to me saying they only received a brick. Yes, A brick! What do I do? Contact the courier or is the another way of going about this. Surely this is a scam to get a freebie?

Sounds like a variation of the “empty box” claim.
Did the buyer supply a photo of the package and brick? I bet they don’t.
Who was the courier? Some provide photos of the package when left.

I wouldn’t flat out assume it’s a scam by the buyer as there’s many ways this could have happened…
Have you checked your returns report to see if that SKU has been returned by a customer at any point and then return to inventory? If it’s returned and the returns warehouse doesn’t physically check the goods are in there… once it’s back in inventory and sent out to another customer there’s no way of linking it back to the customer who returned it… Personally I would think it’s this…

Hi,
Interesting, I too had the same claim today. We sent a new sealed MacBook Pro that apparently had a brick inside! I know things can go wrong in the shipping system but I know the courier we use DPD photograph the parcels as they pass through each hub. They notified us through a return so I guess I will have to wait until the item (brick’ gets sent to us.
Not had one of these for years!
