PLEASE HELP - Urgent: Circular Verification Block - Old Suspended Account Preventing New UK Business Account Activation - Please Help
I am hoping a moderator or experienced seller can help me as I have exhausted every support channel available and have 11 unresolved cases with no resolution.
I am a legitimate UK citizen and business owner trying to do the right thing, and I am being trapped in a circular systems block entirely created by Amazon’s own automated processes and advice.
My situation in plain terms:
I have two Amazon accounts (old one I want to close, and a new business account I want opened):
1. Old account - Storefront: TAMI Trading Group — Personal individual account — Zero sales, zero inventory, never traded — Currently suspended and unable to close.
2. New account trying to activate - Ballingall Trading Limited (Registered on companies house) — New UK business account — Currently blocked at identity verification
What happened:
I set up a personal Amazon seller account (TAMI Trading Group) a year ago but never traded on it. This account was deactivated and not in use, and I believed it was fully closed. I then incorporated a proper UK limited company (Ballingall Trading Limited) and registered a new UK seller account to trade legitimately under our business.
When I went through identity verification for the new business account, it was blocked because Amazon’s system detected my old personal account as a linked account — flagging it as “multiple accounts.”
Amazon Seller Support advised me directly that I needed to close my old personal account first before my new business account could be verified. I also was advised that I couldn't just transfer TAMI account to a legal entity and I had to close it in order to open up a new legal business account. I followed this advice.
The catch-22:
When I tried to close the TAMI Trading Group account, I discovered it was in a suspended state. Amazon’s system does not allow a suspended account to be closed through standard settings.
I was then advised by Amazon to reactivate the account first, then close it.
Every reactivation appeal was rejected because Amazon’s system flagged my new Ballingall Trading Limited account as a linked account — the very account I am trying to get verified.
I then completed a video verification call in good faith to try to reactivate the TAMI account so I could close it permanently. After the call I received an email saying my account “may have been used for misleading, fraudulent, or illegal activity” and would not be reactivated.
I have never sold a single item on this account (TAMI Trading Group). I have never done anything fraudulent. The fraud flag has been triggered solely because Amazon’s own system flagged my legitimate attempts to follow Amazon’s own instructions as suspicious behaviour.
The circular block in plain terms:
— TAMI account cannot be closed because it is suspended
— TAMI account cannot be reactivated because of the Ballingall account link
— Ballingall account cannot be verified because TAMI appears as active
— I cannot get support from TAMI account as chat/phone is unavailable on suspended accounts
— Support via Ballingall account cannot action the TAMI account due to privacy policy
— Executive escalation sent to executive-escalations@amazon.co.uk with no response
All I want is one simple thing:
For Amazon to permanently close the TAMI Trading Group account — which has zero sales and zero activity — so that my legitimate UK business account (Ballingall Trading Limited) can be verified and activated. That is it. I do not want two accounts. I never wanted two accounts. I am trying to close one in order to open the other, exactly as Amazon advised me to do. I am aware that Amazon can't close the account for me and I am being advised to do this myself, but everytime I try to reactivate specifically for account closure, it blocks the request due to my business account being on file under the verification stage (it's not even an active account!).
I have 11 open case IDs that are all unresolved. I'm going round in circles and need someone to help.
I would be incredibly grateful if a moderator could review this and escalate to someone with the authority to close the TAMI account on my behalf and activate the Ballingall Trading Limited account.
I have been honest and provided legitimate documentation, but Amazon are not reading my cases properly and understanding that I DO NOT want 2 ACCOUNTS, I only want 1 UK business account under Ballingall Trading Limited, and I want my old account (TAMI Trading Group) permanently closed.
Thank you for reading.

I’m afraid Amazon rules/system will not allow them to close your first account - only you could have done this. You needed to do this BEFORE opening g the new account I’m afraid.
Sorry but I don’t see a solution now.
