Tombstoned Anybody Else?
As our best selling SFP items have stopped selling since the beginning of the month when changes were made we decided to try shortening our titles to see if that would help. We couldn’t change our best seller so contacted SS on 20th Sept., eventually after chasing it up, we got this reply
Our engineers have come back to us and report that this issue is occurring as the item still exists in, but was tomb-stoned (discontinued) in other marketplaces. The only way to fix this is to delete the SKU and create it as a new ASIN which they will do with your go ahead. Please note however that this sales velocity will be lost as technically it will be a new product.
This is not acceptable and at no stage did we discontinue this product anywhere, as it is a personalised item it is not listed with the same SKU or ASIN anywhere else. Has anybody else had this with a product they hadn’t previously touched? This is obviously down to changes that were made by Amazon along with all the other glitches and loss of sales we are all experiencing. We have worked really hard with this product and do not want to lose all of our excellent reviews. TIA.

Unfortunately, this sounds like a difficult situation.
Could you post here the ASIN to see what it looks like and if it would be possible to keep it in it’s current state without making the updates which cannot be enacted by Amazon?

As we are away we have just tried to alter production times in the hope of getting some orders to come back to. Our best seller, which had been tombstoned by Amazon???, has a new section asking for gender and this is a required field. This is for a wedding dropbox, the inventory had been dropped to 1, not by us. What are Amazon doing? We have also found another item that we also can’t alter so has also probably been tombstoned. We are getting no joy from SS just messages every few days thanking us for our patience.

This is the latest reply we have had from Amazon
Thank you for your continued patience on this case.
Please note that a tombstoned ASIN is not an active suppression. It is due to the ASIN no longer having any contributions. This makes the ASIN no longer active, so it is no longer indexed by search and no longer discoverable.
There shouldn’t be a problem relisting the product using a flat-file (inventory loader) once the listing has been deleted.
