Buy Box seller appears different depending on who is logged in
We are selling something for which we thought we had the Buy Box. When logged in (with our seller account) and looking at the Amazon page, we appear to have the Buy Box. But when logged in as another user, or not logged in at all, that very same page shows a different seller has the Buy Box.
I was not aware this was possible. I thought the Buy Box was a constant for all buyers, not customised for different users. Have I got this wrong? Or does Amazon just show your own products in the BB even when others don’t see them there?
How else does one check if they are the BB seller for a given item?
(Feeling very confused right now!)

it can depend on the link you use.
If you use the link on your inventory page then I think you always have the buybox (so that you can use that link to direct people to the page who will then automatically buy from you as you drove them there (though they can ofc change to another seller if they choose))
But if you search for it then it may show a different seller, no-one really knows what exactly the criteria is for the buybox, it might be a quicker delivery rate to the postcode of the logged in account, maybe it shows a seller they bought from before? Maybe it is literally random every time the page reloads… Who knows…

If you log in as a prime customer the buy box can be different to a non prime buyer.
It can also depend on location as well especially if your stock is in FBA. If your stock is located in Scotland and your competitors is located in the south west then customers in Scotland may see your items and in the South West they may see your competitors.
There are other factors as well…no one knows for sure how it works.

OK, that’s interesting - I had no idea the Buy Box was customised to the viewer like that. I suppose that makes sense, but is very frustrating I must say!
Thank you for your help.
