Pending order moved to Unshipped and now late

First time this has happened. An order (order date Oct 16) that I can only assume was in “pending” was moved to Unshipped today.
It is now alerting that it’s late and that it should have shipped on the 24th for 26th delivery date.
What gives, dont pending orders that move to “Unshipped” get assigned a new ship and delivery date? I currently have 0% late and don’t want the hit. Has anyone had success fighting this after you confirm and ship order or maybe it wont even hit metrics due to a glitch?
