Customs Brokerage For France

Hi All,

Trying to send few pallets of stock to Amazon FBA France FR (CDG7) with Amazon Partnered Carrier KUEHNE+NAGEL but apparently they cannot yet custom clear on both sides and can only do UK customs clearance. We also signed up with Regional Express for customs clearance but they also cannot clear customs in France and can only do it if we were using them for transport as well!

I am not sure if anyone else has faced a similar problem and can recommend a customs broker we can rely on?

Thanks

SAME PROBLEM . Tried Regional Express and got the same reply
Impossible to get a customs agent unless you have a subsidiary in the import country

We are having exactly the same issues. We have sent lorry loads of pallets to Amazon warehouses in France for years but since Brexit we have now been told that we need an Import Agent in France. At present we have 15 pallets sitting at the docks in Kent that can’t go anywhere even though we’ve done all the necessary export paperwork. What a nightmare.

So Avask are asking for £10000 buy in to even get started with brokerage. £2000 set up and £8000 bond. then the costs of any actually shipments begin. If that sounds like a resonable amount to your business. Then I will recommend their services they have only ever been good for us.

Of course it is not a resonable cost for me and I feel like I have just offically lost europe. this is going to be a **** year. lets hope things get worked out for smaller business and those that cannot source or manufacture product in this country.
