Amazon FBA stock check/ inventory discrepancys?

Hi all. Several times amazon have mis-counted my stock by either -1 or +1 (most of the time when sending 500+ units)

As I have around 90 variations of similar products (Hair dye/ colours) my concern is that my actual inventory wont be accurate and the longer time goes by the more off my stock count will be.

If there a way to do a full inventory check at some point or is this something I will have to get used to?

For example, I ordered 35 of one colour and 35 of another colour. I printed off 35 of each label and sent together. The shipment may show 36 checked in of one and 34 of the other.

I know this is impossible because I did all the purchase and labelling myself.

In reality, I am sending 20 SKUs at a time and across pack groups, so the problem isn't just 2 SKUs, its many.

I'm not saying you are wrong but I often thought that I don't make mistakes. So after getting a few incoming discrepancies, I "looked outside the box" and went back and double-checked a few of my finished shipments after packing. I did find the occasional error.

So I've made some changes to my labels by having different shapes printed on different product labels, eg squares, circles, stars etc etc. Now, it's much more difficult to make mistakes.

You could print your labels with different text colours or shapes in different colours.

It may even help Amazon to make fewer mistakes.

Just an idea.

From Experience... You just need to get used to it.

Not to worry you ... but... You may find that the inbound warehouse has also decided to place a label over any perfectly good barcode you already have on the affected product(s), which completely mis-identifies them.

That adjusts your stock levels by +/- for the corresponding items.

Worse... A customer will then receive, for example, "Brown" instead of "Red", which affects you a second time.

The only way you'll ever know is to make sure all customer returns are sent back to you. Don't use the 'refurbishment' options as that can cause you even bigger headaches. If you get the product back and it's got an Amazon warehouse label stuck over the top of it, that's what's happening.

You could then open a case with Amazon to check the stock, and provide photos, but (also in my experience) it's like asking the Turkeys to decide if it's Christmas yet.

I've never been able to figure out why they do it, but it seems like someone in FBA receiving just likes printing stickers, and it causes chaos for us.

Hi,

We also get the same problem on a weekly basis when sending split packaging. When packing we double check what we send and have started printing of the packing list and ticking accordingly. All of our stock comes in sixes which we send in or multiples of that figure. Since doing the split package method, I see that week on week Amazon suggesting that items are missing from the package which infers that the process that Amazon are using is not working correctly.

That 'saving' may / may not actually exist anyway.

Apparently it's very hard to reconcile if you've actually been granted any saving / the right saving...
