Holiday or extra day handling times?

If we are unable to ship same day we currently turn on the holiday settings to ensure we don't fail to deliver.

What is the best option if you are unable to meet the 2pm shipping deadline occasionally?

Turn on holiday settings OR

Increase the 'handling time' to 1 day (I noted this takes 24 hours to come into effect)

I never put holiday settings on for a short period of time as it can take almost a week for orders to start coming in again.

I always increase handling time.

If this is a problem you're having frequently, I'd set up an Inventory file with all your ASINs in so you can upload it to change all of your handling times at the SKU level.

Keep in mind that if you have premium delivery available in your shipping settings, your handling time will be overwritten.

Definitely just change your handling time to 1 day, this is what I do. You can change it back again 24 hours later.

Putting holiday mode on means you lose sales and it can take a fair while for sales to return to normal once you come out of holiday mode.
