We have received an email that our Amazon.de account has been blocked from selling and shipping goods due to our failure to declare participation in the OSS system and provide a VAT number by the deadline.

The exact content below:

"We have taken this measure because your German VAT identification number was not uploaded and verified by the deadline, or you failed to provide evidence that you opted in to Union One-Stop Shop (OSS) together with the VRN used for reporting OSS. Under German VAT legislation, online marketplaces must collect a German VAT identification number from selling partners who are required to be tax-registered in Germany.

A VAT number is valid when the business name and tax address are accurate and matching between the information entered in Seller Central and data stored in the German Federal Tax Authority’s database. For more information and recommended actions, please review the help page .

If you do not store inventory in Germany, you can alternatively meet your German tax obligations by opting in to OSS. You will need to provide evidence that you report your EU Business-to-Consumer cross border sales to Germany via One-Stop Shop and mark the VAT identification number in Seller Central used for OSS. An overview of all EU27 Member state OSS portals and contact details for each country can be found here ."

We have been in the OSS system for 2 years, our VAT number has been listed and verified for 2 years on our seller account, the data has not changed, and all declarations are systematically sent.

In order to unblock the account we have to provide the VAT No. and declare participation in OSS, because we do not store goods in Germany, however, all the data on our account is correctly stated all the time and we have nothing to add there.

Please help, has anyone had this situation and what could be the reason?

Nearly three weeks ago, my account was blocked due to an inactive German VAT number, even though I am not required by any law to maintain an active German VAT number. I have been registered under the Union OSS Procedure in Poland since 2021. Furthermore, my Polish VAT number and Union OSS status are both enrolled and confirmed in my Amazon settings (status: CONFIRMED and ENROLLED).

The reasons that I am not required to have active German VAT number are:

1. I am not seller who resides in Germany
2. I do not have any inventory in Germany nor use FBA anymore
3. I am enrolled and active in Union OSS (One-Stop-Shop) already since year 2021 and I declare my Business-To-Consumers distance sales to Germany in Poland

My Attempts to Resolve the Issue:

1. I have contacted the Account Health Service multiple times. Each representative took time to verify my account details and confirmed that my account is in healthy condition and my PL VAT and OSS settings are correct and properly verified.
2. I was assured each time that my account would be reactivated within 48 hours or 3–5 business days, depending on the representative.
3. I  was informed that there is no further action required from my side.

Despite these repeated confirmations, no real actions have been taken, and my account remains blocked.

I have also provided all the required information and supporting documents to the following email addresses:

Each time, I received confirmation that my Polish VAT number has been verified and that my account is compliant with German VAT obligations.

Current Status:

Almost three weeks have passed since my account was blocked. From time to time (max once per week)I receive the following update:

“We are still conducting an internal investigation of this case. Once an update is available, we will get back to you. There is no further action required from your side at the moment.”

Unfortunately, no resolution has been provided, and my account remains blocked, causing significant disruption to my business operations.

Request for Escalation:

I kindly request that this case be escalated to the appropriate department that can promptly handle this issue and unblock my account. I believe this matter requires immediate attention to avoid further delays.Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. I look forward to your response.

my de account has been blocked as german department told them that i have not paid tax , but from my end i was paying my tax on time but still this happen to me , my all inventory is in german and now it's really big problem for me, i have already contacted german department regarding that but no response from them i have shared all my payment screen shot with german department, department even did not notified me anything that i debt them any amount , i don't know how long it takes for them to reply me , is there anyone facing same kind of issue ?
