Multiple return requests?

I’ve now had three return requests for the same item from a buyer on the German Site.
This is a change of mind return.
I’ve authorized each time and given him an address in Germany and asked him to email Proof of Postage, upon receipt of which I’ll refund. I do it this way as I can’t confirm it’s been delivered to the address as I’m not there. I send the return instructions in German.
He also cancelled another request - so four so far.

Does this “Proof of Postage” approach sound reasonable? It’s worked fine before.
How many times can he raise a return request for the same item? And keep getting the same answer.
He has not contacted me outside of the return process.
I did contact him prior to dispatch asking for a full name as only a single name was given.
Single names are usually okay when Sting or Madonna place their orders.
He did not reply but he obviously got it anyway.

Let him open as many return requests as he wants, so long as you keep accepting each one [whilst it is in policy and is not past the 30 days limit] and supplying a local return address then you will be safe in the event of an A-Z claim.

Please note that while buyers are able to open an infinite amount of return requests, you absolutely don’t need to authorize each of them.

The correct procedure is to accept the first request and then deny every additional one as duplicate, after selecting the appropriate option from the drop down menu.

Regarding requiring the buyer to provide you the proof of postage, this is something that you cannot expect them to do or make it a condition of reimbursing them.

On Amazon, sellers are required to process all returns with a refund within 48 hours after receipt of the returned merchandise without setting any conditions.

As the seller, you need to ensure that someone will be able to receive and inspect the items at the local address in Germany even if you are unable to do so.

So your customer is free to ship the item back howsoever they please, as long as it arrives to the address provided to them and doesn’t need to answer any messages.
