UPC/EAN Codes Issue
Hi,
We are facing an issue regarding the UPC/EAN codes on all of our listings in the UK. The issue is that the listings have an EAN code entered which is a 12 digit code that would uniquely identify the listing, but the listing shows that UPC is selected in the field and EAN is the written value. The EAN codes are 12 digits and UPC codes are 13 digits. An error is displayed on the field saying that “Value provided exceeds maximum length constraint for this field”. Please let me know how we can fix this issue, without having to delete our listings or causing any damage to our listings.

Hey Jutt,
We have the exact same issue for the last week on one of my listings and so far haven’t been able to resolve it frustratingly. I going to call Amazon later today again as the last response I received overnight didn’t even address my issue.
If I manage to resolve this issue I will let you know.

I believe this may be because “UPCs” are technically American, and “EANs” are UK based.
I’ve just realised that we’ve listed our products on creation under “UPC” in the drop-down, and not “EAN”
Therefore in the UK market, this is technically incorrect, and we cant edit the listing until it has been deleted and re-uploaded with this field being correct and selecting “EAN” not “UPC”

I had the same issue. I put zero beginning of the number and it sorted for me.
