Amazon exposé on ITV News - Have you had a bad experience with Amazon?
Did anyone just see the Amazon piece headlining the ITV news?
It was about their impact on the environment and typically lying through their teeth as usual about the scale of it, totally unaware they were being secretly filmed.
It’s shame it’s come this late as this has been exposed in USA and Canada years ago, with so much product being thrown into landfill, tons and tons of it, daily!
That was their massive environmental issue. I’m going to approach ITV about their inhumane treatment of sellers too. We all know how they treat workers. But sellers get a raw deal also with the cold shoulder and silent treatment. I almost committed suicide last year after losing my Amazon account, tragically would have left a family behind. I’m still struggling with severe depression.
Has anyone else suffered ill mental health because of Amazon?
It seems so from some of the threads. Please DM me if you have anything to share.
I have screenshot this post so if Amazon remove it, it will just make them look even worse.
Thank you

Yes - Almost weekly.
I must admit, selling on here doesn’t do anything good for your mental health and it seems to be getting worse with each passing year.
I’m sorry to hear of your own issues and I wouldn’t be at all suprised if there aren’t already several Amazon sellers who have taken their lives because of Amazon’s insensitive attitude.
Personally, I realised a long time ago that Amazon weren’t interested in their sellers so I purposely chose to keep my Amazon business small. Rather than expand and get into debt, I’ve lived within my means and still have money to spare. If Amazon close me down tomorrow I won’t break a sweat.
I try and make it a goal to take some time out and go for a walk in the countryside at least once a week, as well as visit my mother in the nursing home.
There are far more important things in life than Amazon.

What amazes me is that sending all these thousands of new items to landfill is perfectly legal. How is it these huge corporations can get away with this. They need to change the law urgently.

I am sorry to hear about your problems but Amazon is an easy opt-in to running your own business, you become reliant on them. Without them it would have been impossible for many sellers to start a business.
It is not right what Amazon does, but at the same time it gives thousands of people a start, what you do with that start is down to each individual.
If you are unable to run a business without Amazon then you will remain an Amazon slave, I set my business up in 1992, there was no Amazon at the time to get me up and running and I really do not think that what Amazon asks of us is that bad. The VTR was actually quite easy and gives a better service to customers, why would you not want to do that?

The stress on Amazon is colossal
There is no stress selling on the other platforms…at all

This news report utterly shocked us. We are now debating if its worth continuing any association with Amazon and removing Amazon Pay.

I found it easier when I stopped seeing Amazon as a partner and more as my employer. The part of my business which I do on Amazon is no longer my business, Amazon have a controlling interest in that part, While I still have some control at any moment they can decide to “sack” me, hold stock, refuse to issue money, suspend or ban, change how we pack, issue refunds, deal with customers.
Thats bad enough but this from the forums could be a bot, a single bad customer (as we have less than 100 customers per metric period) or Amazon simply not wanting to sell items anymore.
Its like the shark and the pilot fish, we get to swim along for a while but never think you are leading and Amazon are supporting. I would never make any major financial decisions based upon my Amazon store’s future prospects.
In terms of risk, the risk on Amazon seem to be almost catastrophic, I’m just not sure how often or likely it is to happen, its hard to tell if forum problems are typical or just exceptions.

It is getting to the point were the Amazon brand can damage yours, so be careful. What with all the petitions to keep Bezos in space, employees being mistreated, and lots of other VERY bad press. The Amazon brand is becoming a poisoned chalice.

Just watched it. It’s a bit of a click-bait bandwagon jumping poorly written report. Doesn’t look as to why they were destroyed - illegal copies, unsafe, no CE certification.
The environmental impact - so you would prefer individual unwanted and unselable items to be transported back to the original seller for them to dispose of or sell for pennies? The environmental and financial cost of that out ways any benefit
