customer return reason
Hi can someone tell me what ""The product is not compatible with my existing system"" means when a customer returns a product

Exactly what it says ! - they obviously bought something, and then discovered it was not the correct item to fit. What was it ? I guess they could have accidentally clicked on the wrong reason ??

The return reasons the customers select are not always right. They will select any return reason that think they will get their return postage paid.
I have had greeting cards returned as they are not compatible with existing system which is a load of rubbish.
If you are getting a particular ASIN which has this return reason a lot then it could indicate a problem with the product listing and should be reviewed. If it is just a one off then I wouldn't worry about it.
To answer your question the reason means that they have an existing product and buy a part or add on that is not compatible with it.

Many customers know how to get a free return even if they've just changed their minds (in which case they'd have to pay for the return postage)...I get quite a few 'incompatible or not useful for intended purpose' for CDs and DVDs! Although I can't prove it, I suspect most of these customers want to download the CD or watch the DVD for free and and not have to pay a penny to return it

Sadly its becoming more and more common for customers to scam the system by putting wrong return systems and Amazon does nothing about it.
Ive had alot of this not compatable with existing system and there is literally nothing it can be combatable with..
