Unusual charge from Amazon Mexico (I am in the UK)
Good day to you. I hope your Xmas served you well… I personally, am exhausted from all the food.
Anyway… yesterday, my bank refused a small charge from Amazon Mexico. I have had no dealings with them as I am in the UK (and only sell to the UK), so I am very confused as to what this might be. I have spoken to Amazon support but they told me to talk to Amazon Mex who are, typically not available until much later, our time.
Is this something anyone else has experienced? I have only had this account for a month or so.
Thanks so much!

If it's a very small amount then it could well be an attempt to verify the card. At the top of Seller Central do you have more countries listed than just in Europe?

I have been trading for a while so it would be unusual to verify the card now… but even so, I haven’t got any stores outside of Europe, so it makes it all the more weird. Unless its been hidden somewhere… I’m just looking under “stores” section of my seller central home page

Hello @Seller_SlzTh3rIBjgi9,
I am Spencer with Amazon.
Have you been able to contact Amazon Mexico?
Let me know if I can help.

Hi Spencer.
I contacted Mexico and they told me that I would be charged for having a N.American account. But I never signed up to one.
Under my “stores” tab, I had 10 territories listed, all in Europe, then on Xmas Day or Boxing Day, It randomly moved up to 13, which included Mexico, USA and Canada and I don’t know why.
I asked them to close the North American stores but they told me that if they did that, my entire seller account would be closed, which I obviously didn’t want to do. But, talking over chat support is infuriatingly difficult (as they hardly ever know what I am talking about or have any answers to anything) and I gave up trying to talk to anyone about it.
If you have any answers, that would be great

Do you (or can you find out) if we all going to have US accounts foisted on us in the near future?
One of the worst aspects of selling Amazon, in my opinion, is the way we have been forcibly made to open overseas accounts without even being asked. A few weeks ago I had Ireland added and it was 'live' from the start.
I have put it and all the other countries that I do not yet want to sell in on holiday mode.
I would think the onus should be on Amazon to make 'on holiday' the default rather than immediately opening us up - without any warning - to markets we are not ready or willing to sell in?

Hello @Seller_SlzTh3rIBjgi9,
I just checked with our partners and was told your US and Canada stores are on holiday mode, but your Mexico store is active. Are you able to change it? If not, let me know.
