Just made a new seller account and Amazon says I failed verification? What?
So I am a sole proprietor (self employed) latvian citizen, live in United Kingdom.
I have registered an account with amazon to sell my products on Amazon UK.
Here is the correspondence I have received from amazon:
1)
Welcome to the Selling on Amazon programme.
You can now reach millions of customers across Europe through your Seller Central account. Your registration provides you access to each of Amazon’s five European marketplaces – UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain.
To begin listing your offers, sign into Seller Central using the e-mail address and password associated to your account: https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/
In order to sell on Amazon, you will be required to open a Selling on Amazon payment account with Amazon Payments Europe S.C.A.
2)
Hello from Amazon Services Europe,
Per your request, the credit card information associated with your seller account on Amazon has been updated. Future account charges will be made to this credit card.
If you did not request this change, please contact Seller Support.
Regards,
Amazon Payments UK Limited
3)
For your security, we have suspended your Amazon seller account. During our review, you will not be able to sell on Amazon. Please ship any open orders. If you have any funds in your account, they will be available after any amounts paid for A-to-Z claims or chargebacks on your orders have been deducted. This usually takes about 90 days, but funds may be held longer.
Why is this happening?
We need additional documentation to verify your identity. If you currently sell on Amazon , we need to verify a change to your payment methods. If you did not make this change, contact Seller Support.
4)
We have charged your (Visa) credit card for 30.00 in an attempt to settle your account balance.
Please note that the amount charged to your credit card may be less than the total amount you owe due to a credit limit imposed by your bank. In this case, we may continue to attempt charging your card until the remaining balance in your Amazon Selling on Amazon payment account is paid in full.
You can also use the Make a Payment feature to repay the balance you owe. For details, refer “Making a Payment” in Seller Central Help.
To view your payment activity anytime, please log in to your account and refer the Payments Report page.
Thank you for selling on Amazon.

Dear Seller,
We were unable to verify the information you provided when registering for a Selling on Amazon payment account and, as a result, your Selling on Amazon payment account could not be opened. Unfortunately, this means that you will not be able to continue to sell on Amazon.
Please take appropriate steps to resolve any open orders. Note that any amounts paid as a result of A-to-z Guarantee claims and chargebacks may be deducted from the balance in your existing Seller Account.
Kind regards,
Amazon Payments
I was only asked to provide a photo of my passport when I created the account which I did.
My passport is valid and is not expired. Absolutely nothing is wrong with my passport.
I have now appealed to amazon with the following:
The root cause of the issue
I just opened a seller account as I want to sell on Amazon UK.
My account has been suspended immediately and I was asked to provide the passport.
I provided my passport (which is valid and have expiry date in 2025) scan in .pdf in color as was requested and received a message that “We were unable to verify the information you provided when registering for a Selling on Amazon payment account”.
The actions that you have taken to resolve the issue
I am a european union citizen living in United Kingdom and I would like to provide to you my documents so you could verify my account:
I have attached to this appeal:
- my passport scan (passport.jpg)
- my utility bill scan (electricity bill) (IMG_1101.jpg, IMG_1102.jpg, IMG_1103.jpg)
- my bank statement scan (IMG_1100.jpg)
- my letter from HMRC which I received when registered as sole proprietor (IMG_1096.jpg)
The steps that you have taken to prevent the issue going forward
Please let me know if anything else is required to verify a seller account.
Attached the mentioned documents as a scan photos made with my phone.
Any help would be appreciate.
What is going on and why amazon was uanble to verify my account in first place.
What else should I do?

I am sorry to hear that your Seller Account has been deactivated after registration. This is something very common these days, in cases when some of the information or documents which you submitted raised concerns.
However, since you already received the final denial response, it indicates that you failed the review and your account will remain closed unless you manage to find out what exactly was wrong with your submissions and resend it to Amazon again.
I would also advise you to ensure that all the documents which you provided were correct and exactly matching the information entered in your account details.
Even a slightest discrepancy can cause your submissions to get rejected.

How tired of hearing such explanations.
Amazon specifically blocks new sellers during the Q4 holiday season, but if you have VAT you will be verified, no VAT - no verified. All politics.
