Has anybody else been hacked recently

Hi

Just wondering if anybody else is facing the same problems we are. Last week I noticed sales had dropped and realised that somebody had turned on our holiday settings. As I’m the only person with access and I knew I hadn’t done it I reported the problem to customer support. I came into work on Monday and had had an email saying that our attempt to verify our bank account had failed. I also knew that we hadn’t done this so had a look and somebody based in the USA had tried to add their bank account as a deposit method. So I reported this and changed our password. The support case was transferred to the security team. The password got hacked again an Monday evening and this time the hacker had managed to add themselves as a beneficial owner so I raised another ticket which was once again passed to the security team. This morning we have been hacked once again but this time the hacker has now managed to replace us as the business owner and successfully added their own bank account. I have no idea how they are doing this as the OTP to change the password is sent to our email and my personal phone. This was reported this morning and once again was transferred to the security team. Unfortunately since this all started the security team has not contacted us even though we were supposed to get a call back yesterday afternoon.

Any suggestions or comments about what to do next would be gratefully received.

Thanks

Andy

You should probably start by changing your email login and running a security scan of your computer. Take screenshots of any information on your account that isn’t yours - you may need it in the future if you get flagged for having multiple accounts

Hi

The PC I am using has premium versions of Avast anti virus and Malwarebytes. The full system scans bring up no issues. Also, when I am forced to change my passwords every day it sends an OTP first to my email and then a verification text to my phone. How could the hackers possibly defeat this? This whole thing is very stressful as I can’t seem to get any help from Amazon.

Is it possible to change your email address as well?
(it must be but I’ve never tried it)

Change everything you can, emails, passwords, logins etc. However given everything you say, sounds like an inside job

It could be one of the new keyboard loggers if you have clicked on a link without realising. It could of installed itself but not showing as a virus, these can be monitored remotely and also email the list of keyboard stokes to someone once they have the list it would be very easy to get ALL your passwords. As suggested turn that computer off and log in on a different machine then change all passwords emails / amazon etc and ensure you have the 2 step verification on to point to your phone only. You should know in a couple of days if the other computer is affected because the attracts will stop as they won’t have your new passwords

Laser_craft1 is right it seems like they have access to your computer somehow, try to log in using different pc/tablet and change all your password and see if they able to change your password again if not that means that your pc is hacked
Thanks

This suggest the computer is out of your sight at the weekend.
A long shot maybe, but is it possible someone could have gained physical access to it when you were not there?

Avast and Malwarebytes will not save you from a sophisticated attack. All of these antiviruses can easily be exploited by the right person.

As others have suggested, your email and/or your pc is compromised. Do not use the PC until you have completely formatted the drives with a fresh install of Windows. Use another PC in the meantime and ensure you secure your email from the new pc.

All the best
