Why does it take Amazon so long to pay out money owed when they are quick enough to take their fees
Hi
I have just started selling on Amazon in the middle of January 2019, The first sale was made & we never received an email notification.
This was on the Friday & as we dont work at the weekends didnt realise until Monday morning. the buyer was in France & as the parcel measured 1.2m which cost myself £126 to send through UPS.
Because I was deemed as sending the parcel out late my account was put on suspension,Amazon are holding £896.92 from two sales & have not paid me, the account balance is showing as £0.00 so what has happen to the money.
I have appealed the suspension over a week ago & nothing has been done or any messages received back.
When Amazon eventually get round to paying me what is owed I will be closing the account, their fees are extortionate & far more than Ebay.
There is absolutely no way of speaking to or emailing anyone at Amazon which is so infuriating

Not sure that’s strictly true. Amazon fees and payments owing tend to happen at the same time.
I’m currently still in the red with my sponsored products advertising as I’ve not yet made enough sales to cover the fees. Amazon will take the money from my bank account on the 12th if there is any outstanding or pay me what is owning if my sales exceed.
Amazon’s ‘bank processing’ is done at the same time whether you owe them money or they owe you.

You signed up to an agreement whereby you will be paid on a delivery date based payment system.
7 days after the LAST estimated delivery date for each order those funds will become available for disbursement to you.
If you are on a fortnightly disbursement schedule and cannot do daily disbursements, then that may be another 2 weeks that you have to wait.
How long is your handling time? A long handling time will extend the EDD and therefore your payments will lag a long way behind the order dates.
However fees are taken straight away and will reduce your available balance.

My thinking is quite simple: I estimate a 1 month payment date since the sale.
Until now it was the best tactic - no need to wait, to be anxious. I sell 1 item on 1st of April and I should get the money somewhere around 1-2 of May. Sometimes it can be a little bit faster, sometimes a little bit later but that’s the usual.
Well, life’s hard.
