Is it possible to remove the GTIN exemption and apply for GTIN?

Hi,

If a product is already GTIN exempt, does Amazon need to be notified if a GS1 barcode is subsequently purchased for that product?

For example, initially the product was sold solely on Amazon but product is now being sold on other platforms therefore GS1 barcode is required. Would the GTIN exemption be retracted in this instance or can it still be used.

Hi @Seller_keWm116f9yfjT,

You can keep your GTIN exemption on Amazon even if you purchase a GS1 barcode for use on other platforms. If you feel your product should no longer be exempted, you can request to have the exemption removed through Seller Support.
