Amazon Germany Account - DE
Dear All,
Amazon has suspended our Germany account ages ago. However, we have never bothered as we do NOT sell on there at all.
However, recently we want to start an advertising campaign in the UK, but Amazon do not allow it if any EU channel is deactivated. However, to activate it we need to either get VAT registered or sign a decleration to state we have no Germany obglitaiton.
Amazon keep giving us this link but it does NOT work at all. We keep telling them we cannot do this via that section. Does anyone have any idea?
Any help will be greatly appreciated?

You could check with the German VAT office (I know I know…) to see if you owe them anything after those several years. I had a similar situation where I had to register and pay some VAT (100% based on my own calculations) for 2016-2018. They have a phone number you can call - the guy I had was friendly and spoke English.

I am in the same situation, worse yet they have suspended my other Amazon account the other week and won’t reactivate it till this account DE is reactivated. To reactivate I need to register for DE VAT on this account yet the UK marketplace is fine.
My DE marketplace was suspended since 2020 and since I was not selling on Germany for years the VAT registration requirement made no sense, Seller Performance was not responding at all, in the end Seller Support advised to just leave it.
I never got a clear answer why in 2020, only through Seller Performance on my other account they’ve told me since 2019 sellers had a performance notification asking sellers to register for DE VAT or opt out. Sure enough I see this mentioned looking back at it now however since I was not selling on DE when I received the notification I never really took notice of it. There is a limited time frame to opt out, now there is no option, I guess you may have also missed it.
Seller Performance from my other account said I could try to ask the Germany tax authorities to send some kind of proof that I don’t need to register for VAT. I don’t know if they do this and secondly no one knows if Seller Performance on this account will accept it to reactivate the DE marketplace to reactivate my other account.
