SUDDEN DROP IN SALES – from 10–12 per day to 2 per day in the last 6 months

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some insight from fellow sellers.

Over the last 6 months my sales have dropped significantly.

Previously I was averaging 10–12 sales per day, and now I’m only getting around 2 per day, with no major changes on my side.

Things I’ve already checked:

Listings are active and in stock

No account health issues

No suppressed listings

Pricing is competitive

Has anyone experienced a similar drop recently?

What key areas would you recommend reviewing ?

Any advice would be really appreciated.

Thank you.

Its quite hard to look at without seeing any ASINS.

I would start here, though

BSR, how is your ranking trending? Is it increasing over time?

Conversion/clickthrough Rate, are you getting the same amount of clicks as previously but fewer conversions? If so, is it an infographic or a listing issue? Have your competitors got more enticing listings?

Competitors' Ads, clear your cache or go incognito and search for your item on Amazon, does it show on the first page? Do your competitors all rank at the top of the page? Perhaps you ned to look further into granularising your advertising data.

ensure your backend has as many keywords as possible aswell as your bullet points

have you got A+ content & Video??

id give the above a go, i know its very generic but gives you a hsort list to look through.

As above, simple checks first:

Is the product still relevant and in demand?

and if so

What are your competitors doing that's getting them the sales?

we've seen a similar big drop in sales also. but we have slightly reduced lines/offers in our account but the drop has been far greater than expected, silver lining is that day to day stress levels are better!

Hi @Seller_QbAHab8pVYzos,

Thank you for starting this thread! Great to see other sellers jumping in here with their insights and suggestions.

If you haven't done so already, I'd recommend reviewing your Business Reports to see if you can find out any additional information or trends with your listings.

I would also encourage you to check out the following resources for additional information and suggestions for increasing orders:

Now if you do believe you're experiencing a potential error with your account, I'd recommend opening a case with Seller Support so that team can take a further look into your account.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

All the best,

Jameson

We are the same. 50% down on same time last year and we are spending more on ads! Ads are on first page when we go incognito.

I had the same issue. Massive drop in sales from 30 a day to 10 on a good day. Put it down to it being January and general slow sales. Account health was good as with everything else. I did up my spends on amazon ads and that seemed to work...ish.

Hello we have the same issue. Sales have dropped significantly over the last 6 months and we can't find any reason for it. Sales have gone from 50 a day to 10 if we're lucky. Even Christmas was a washout and that usually our busiest time. Our pricing hasn't changed. We've always had competition but this hasn't increased over the last year, there are the same amount of suppliers of similar products as there were last year.

I have opened a query with Amazon, they say nothing is wrong with the account. We use Fulfilment by Amazon.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

while the decline might be product related i would say certainly the current economic climate is a huge factor.. most of us are experiencing this.

we have been on amazon since 2010 and the last 3 years have been slowly declining year on year

I've been driving myself nuts trying to figure out why I had such a big drop in sales. Turns out Amazon have changed the way my variations work. I'm currently re-listing all my variations with the inventory loader to re-classify them all. If you have variation products it might be worth seeing if they are all showing as expected. My products are in the home & kitchen > Crafts > Sewing category.
