Are Amazon Ads Becoming Too Expensive to Be Worth It?
Hey fellow sellers,
I’ve noticed my ACoS has been creeping higher each month, even when my keywords are well-optimised. Feels like the competition is getting tougher, and I’m wondering if it’s still worth running ads at the same level.
👉 Are you reducing ad spend, switching to external traffic, or doubling down on Amazon PPC despite rising costs?
👉 Has anyone found a creative way to lower ACoS without killing sales?
Would love to hear what’s working for you right now — I think this is something a lot of us are struggling with.

It is simply not worth it. It is feeding substantially into profit.
And Amazon doesn't promote the market place on google anymore as much as before. So nobody is seeing our products unless they are on amazon.
And to make things worse, this platform is totally dysfunctional, search engine out of order. One eye pencil with chocolate color is listed against food!! What is the point in paying for advertisements when this platform is in dire state.

Of course they are worth it ACOS isn't the greatest tool for measuring ads on Amazon.
You want to look at your TACOS (Total Advertising cost of sale) as ads all feedback into gaining rank preserving rank so if your organic sales make up enough to have your TACOS at a low rate 10-15% then it's irrelevant what the ACOS is as the ads are still feeding back into the loop.
TACoS=Total Sales/Ad Spend×100
If TACoS is steady or declining while sales grow, it means your ads are boosting organic rank and you’re scaling sustainably.
If TACoS rises, it usually means you’re leaning too heavily on ads to drive sales.
in very simple terms.

Hello @Seller_uP1hiOIe2PE3u,
My name is Dougal from the Community Manager Team and to address a potentially creative way at lowering ACOS, have you attempted the strategies mentioned in the Optimize your bids and budgets or Troubleshoot campaigns to optimize performance courses from the Amazon Ads Academy first?
I am just curious what you are already doing before I provide or offer anything additional.
Best, Dougal

I've never seen the economic case for advertising on Amazon, it justs takes too much of your profit, in fact if we all stopped advertising then we might sell a bit less but we would all be better off.
I always think that if somebody goes onto Amazon to buy something then generally they are motivated to do some research and find the best product for their needs, personally I ignore all the sponsored listing knowing they are only there because they paid to be there.
