Read onlyI am listing a retired history teacher's book collection or sale but for the two titles I started with I received a message that I must apply for 'brand approval'. I assume this is to check that I am not a dodgy seller palming off pirated copies, so I went through the usual procedure which has never been a problem in the past. However I received a request for a recent receipt for at least 10 copies of the book/brand from the distributor! Surely this is a nonsense? I have been selling books online for 15 years plus! Doesn't Amazon know the second-hand book market is growing faster than the new books market? I am happy to sell just through AbeBooks but students in the UK expect to be able to buy these books through Amazon! I believe this restraint of trade is actually illegal in the UK, but assume it is another 'inadvertent' error by Amazon's techies.
I agree a lot of this nonsense for 2nd hand books
