Is the returns shipping cost clearly displayed to customer?
I’m certain it is but I have no recent personal purchases to see exactly how it looks. Currently arguing with a customer who is claiming that they had no idea they would be charged returns postage.
Does anyone have a screenshot of the page they can send me?

for example purposes only (the return was cancelled after the screenshot)
This is an item I purchased from a Marketplace Seller, FBM but not SFP
The return is “in date” and I selected the return reason “No longer needed” (as you can see).
When I amended the return reason to faulty the return was free

About Our Returns Policies - Amazon Customer Service
’ In many cases, we’ll provide you with a pre-paid returns label. If the item you purchased is not eligible for Free Return, and you’re using a pre-paid return label, we’ll deduct the cost of the return from your refund. For returns from within the UK, costs start at £3.99.’

’ * The label cost can be deducted, if the return reason is buyer-responsible.’

Quite frankly I am very cynical about the whole of the returns process.
I feel there are many customers who genuinely think that if something has been sent to them “free post” then it is actually free and they can return it “free”. This is all to do with the free post culture which is getting completely out of hand.
Another sort of customer thinks we sellers are able to send goods on approval and that we are like the big shops who are in a better position to absorb extra costs.
Another factor which Amazon need to take into account with their very liberal returns policy is the cost to the environment. There are probably thousands of parcels every day sent somewhere only to be sent back again.

I shocked my wife last week by telling her that most clothing returns end up in landfill. She had no idea.
There was an article in the paper a couple of weeks ago about a woman who had bought 12 outfits to see which one she liked. She returned 11 of them (probably to landfill). Then people wonder why clothing is so expensive.
