more pricing problems
Amazon 'high pricing' listing suspensions are well known to follow their own peculiar lack of logic, but this is weirder than most.
I have a rather odd book, basically a bit of gay semi-porn, but, hey Im a bookseller and its a book. The only copy for sale I could see is a hefty £140 . To me, that is ridiculous, its never going to sell at that. My copy is damaged, but its a very expensive book, so I listed it at £40.
Within the hour its been deactivated for a 'pricing error ' ? What ? Why ?
Does anyone have any idea why ? Its hardly the end of the world, one book, but Amazons interventions on pricing are just baffling and usually utterly senseless. Like this one.

Hi Wobble121,
In Manage Your Inventory can you View reference price?
Somewhere there is a reference price that Amazon is using - although it might be the original cover price! A are supposed to check reference prices across the Internet (but they might not include postage!)
Try knocking a few quid off, and see if the new price is objected to?
All Best

If you list it as 'collectible' the high price warning should go away.
I believe that means it won't be eligible for the buybox but at least it will have some visibility.

Hi wobble121 and everyone else,
Interestingly, Amazon have provided (some) answers, here:
https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/help/hub/reference/S9A4Q8K4Q6KT8TV?ref_=myp_lm
It accounts for many of the puzzling elements we've observed, but doesn't seem to allow for Amazon's charges which have to be built into our prices...
All Best,
Brian
