Royal Mail Free Business Collection
Does anybody know if the yearly spend amount required to get free business mail collections is inc or exc VAT?
For example I’ve been told the qualifying amount is £17000 but would that be £14166.67 + VAT or £17000 exc VAT?
I’m pretty sure I was told initially it qualifying amount would include any VAT paid but I’ve just received a letter stating I don’t qualify anymore and will have to pay for collections.

The majority of prices shown on RM are ex. VAT where business is concerned. When we signed up it was 15k ex. VAT

I would guess its before VAT is added - same as most businesses
One website I buy has a minimum order of £100 - but in actual fact that’s £100+ Vat + Delivery, so minimum order is actually closer to £130 haha

I have a free business collection, yearly spend with Royal Mail through all formats is around 15k including VAT.
This was setup through my Business Manager in March 2021

It all depends also on what you send out.
We send our Tracked so get a collection daily but dont spend anywhere near the £17,000

You get free collections if you spend £17K + VAT annually.

Yes - if you use their Tracked service you get free collections - as long as you send a min amount Tracked per annum. I think its something like 1000 items sent Tracked per year but not 100% certain.

Heads up I’ve just received a letter today to say my free collections are stopping as I don’t meet the level required after having free collections for the last 8 years. Fuming, the letter says the way they work out your qualifying spend has changed due to covid and unprecendented times. They have looked at March 2019-Feb 2020 and March 2021 - Feb 2022 and completely decided to ignore when I spent over £28,000 with them.

I use Tracked 24 /48 along with RM24/48 so get a Free Collection. they expect you to send about 20 Tracked items per week , .
Fully Tracked Mail is priced on the average weight you give them, so personally it is cheaper than the parcel rate .
Be aware the Tracked guys check the average weight you send monthly ! and may adjust the price per item.
