When listing this, entering the barcode via 'add products'. I saw a title and photo showing what is clearly 1 bottle. I listed it. I sold 2 seperately. One of those sales has resulted in an angry customer who expected 2, not 1. Why? because the description says
Size: 2 count Pack of 1
This type of information should specifically be in the title at the very least, but usually also the product photo. If anyone reads this and wants to be cute, saying 'you should have read everything', remember, when listing an item against a barcode, if it is for a quantity of 2, the title/photo will directly show this. i have never seen a listing on amazon for a unit of 2 items/bottles where the title/photo doesnt depict this
in the Measurements part, it says
Liquid Volume 12.5 Fluid Ounces
Number of Items 1
Item Weight 835 g
Unit Count 2.00 count
this is 12.5 fl oz bottle. It says 1 item. Yet unit count says 2, it also weights 835g approx. so clearly this is an error.
ive asked for amazon to amend the listing to correctly reflect what it is supposed to be and likewise asked if they can protect me from any reprisal ie negative feedback when it is caused by an amazon error.
The response is just a link to remove negative feedback. is this AI or a human who hasnt even read the info? i cannot believe the response. This website is far bigger than *bay and yet that one has far easier/better customer service.
Are there any mods/admins on here who can help?
Oh its just a mess.
It is literally luck you get someone in seller support who
1) understands your request and
2) actually goes against policy to change the details
The policy is generally only the brand owner can make the changes. Or whoever controls the listing (which is technically Amazon anyway).
About 30% of the Amazon catalogue has an error of one type or another, I have been selling on Amazon for over 10 years and only once got a listing changed that had a picture of a grotesque monster for a child's toy, quite frightening and seller support and the catalogue team would not do anything, I wrote to the MD's email and the team there were horrified and changed it.
I have probably deleted over 500 listings that were not accurate to avoid returns and defects, but seller support can do nothing, the so called catalogue team won't even communicate with seller support let alone the seller, so it is a complete waste of time to try and correct anything.
Some of the titles, images and descriptions are clearly incorrect, especially with multi listings where some seller has put the colour for instance in the title when it has maybe 6 options and the customer assumes they are getting the colour in the title.
Both Amazon and sellers are losing a huge amount of business over this and I am sure that is why Amazon have so many warehouse deals in huge warehouses caused by returns of products that were incorrectly described.
For a large supposedly efficient company like Amazon to have a third of your catalogue listings with errors is some indictment and especially when they will not listen to reason backed up with evidence and do nothing.
Hello @Seller_ilgaUEocXXMqs,
Just wanted to let you know I passed your issue along to the partner team. They've created the case ID 10863320892 and should be in touch soon.
Have you heard from them yet?
Thanks, Ezra
