Vine reviewers - Malicious reviews?
Looking to get the forums opinions on this. We recently set up Vine reviews for a new product and we’ve received some concerning reviews:-
- The 1st review said that product itself is great and functions as it should, but then went on to say that they did not see the point in purchasing the product and gave 2 stars.
Surely if they did not see the use in the product they shouldn’t have asked to receive it? And surely this goes against the entire point of Vine reviews.
- The 2nd review said that the product and specs looked ‘suspicious’ and gave 1 star.
This before doing any testing or any prior knowledge on this technology. Again, surely this goes against the entire point of Vine reviews? A trusted reviewer doing a thorough test of the product.
Bear in mind, this is a 2nd generation product - the 1st gen was well received with over 300 4 star reviews. We know that their is definitely a use for this product and the specifications are not ‘suspicious’. We’ve paid £150 for this service and received a load of nonsense. Has anyone else experienced this?

Isn’t that the whole point of reviewing something? To leave an unbiased review.
Just because you don’t agree with them, doesn’t make them wrong.
If someone is stating that something looked suspicious, then maybe you should be reviewing the various specs etc, rather than looking for maliciousness.

We’ve had a similar experience, but not as bad as yours.
The Vine review said they ordered the product for their friend, but they hadn’t ‘had time’ to use it. They mentioned it didn’t work with an app they wanted to use, even though the product doesn’t claim to work with said app. So clearly the Vine reviewer had no knowledge of the technology, had no intention of using the product, didn’t actually review it and for some reason decided on 3 stars.
I shouldn’t complain too much, but I do find it strange that our vine reviews are worse than actual customers who paid for the products…
