HELP!! Lost Buy Box /Featured offer is Killing Business
Hello@Spencer_Amazon @Ezra_Amazon @JiAlex_Amazon@Ezra_Amazon Please HELP!!
I am writing this out of sheer frustration. For the past month, our brand has been stuck in a "Buy Box Death Loop" for several ASINs.
Every time we lose the Buy Box, we open a case. Every time, the support team "manually restores" it. But just a few hours later, the system triggers the suppression AGAIN. This is a joke.
I have talked to many other sellers who are facing the exact same issue. We are all discussing this, yet no real solution has ever been provided by Amazon.
Here is the reality:
The "Competitive Price" is Absurd: Sometimes the system suggests a competitive price of around £1. This is physically impossible for a high-quality product. How can the system be so far off?
Platform Differences: You cannot compare Amazon to other platforms blindly. Amazon’s commission and fee structures are completely different. Comparing a premium Amazon listing to a random external link is not an "apples-to-apples" comparison.
Products are NOT the Same: Our products are functionally different from the external links the system is scraping. But we are never given the chance to explain.
The "System-Generated" Excuse: Every time we ask for a permanent fix, we are told "it's the automated system" and "humans cannot unlink it." If a system is broken and hurting honest, hard-working sellers, it SHOULD be fixed by humans.
We are Brand Registered sellers trying to run a legitimate business. We are tired of being told to "just wait" or "lower the price" to a level that would bankrupt us.
Amazon, please take this seriously. We need a real technical solution to break these incorrect links once and for all, not just another temporary manual fix that expires in 5 hours.

@Seller_13LJQLKLpUI7U - unfortunately only one of those mods you have tagged (JiAlex) are still active on the forum - the others seem to have left.
I do have to agree with you about the continual restoration and then suppression after a few hours.
I also agree about the competing with external competitive price - they do not take into account the shipping, fees etc.etc.
The problem lies with all the 'System-Generated', and automated systems (probably AI !) that cannot differentiate.

Hello Sellerjh,
I can only agree - I had another book notification last night "Listings deactivated due to suspected pricing errors". The only other offering was nearly 10 times my total price.
Looking deeper, Amazon was comparing my current price with the original 1984 cover price.
So, like the other seller, I listed my copy as "collectable" which negates the problem for booksellers.
But the pricing comparison bot has not been designed to just compare with external prices - just to reduce the prices shown on Amazon. You will not that it rarely (?never?) advises that our price is too low, and we must increase it!
Sympathy and all best

Unfortunately SS are never going to be able or want to fix this. They are doing their job in reinstating and it needs someone from much higher up in the chain of command even than the MODS to take notice of this issue and get a team to look at it unfortunately thats not really in amazons intrest as as long as a product sells they get there money and our inherently not intrested in the profit of their (customers) sellers. You lose money on an item so what we have still made our fees and until such time that 90% talk with their feet and move their inventory elsewhere this will continue to happen and anyone who has invested in the FBA route does not have the choice to make the move.
Unwanted advice but redistribute your eggs invest in your own website sell on others sort a distribution hub out cause amazon are not likely to change in the short term until everyone moves away and that aint gonna happen as there are always more com ming in to fill the gap and maazons grip on the market place is just too strong.

Thanks for reaching out. I see that your issue has been resolved in the case that you escalated previously.
Wishing you the best!

If you make the product consider having different barcodes for amazon and off-amazon so their system cant compare them
