Delivering by hand?

Are we allowed to deliver by hand or is this an Amazon no-no? I’ve just sold a CD to a customer who lives nearby…

You can deliver your orders in person if you wish but at your own risk, as you will lose all protection against INR.

Don’t do it. The money you’re saving on posting will not be enough to cover the therapy you’ll need after dealing with amazon A-Z guarantee.

You are allowed to deliver by whatever means you like, but as others have said it will be at your risk as there is obviously no tracking. We have done this, but generally to people we know - even had our neighbours on the industrial estate order from us, not knowing they were - this of course was a no-brainer for us to hand deliver - they had their item within 5 minutes, even Amazon drones could not match that service

If it’s just a few pounds, I would.

Done it many times without issue. If it’s off value, I would go down tracking route.

When ever this issue comes up there always a few voices warning about issues with customers such as A-Zs, customers leaving negative feedback as they feel they have been over charged on postage etc but based on my experience I don’t think there is anything to worry about, other than the odd small letter box. Since i have been selling on Amazon I have hand delivered the best part of 100 items

When I delivery locally I get the customer to sign a letter which states what they have received so it will deter them from doing an INR. It won’t hold water with Amazon if they do (It would in court) but I’ve never had a customer cheeky enough to do it

I do it all the time, had one order at 11 am they had it before mid day!! I have never had any issues just positive feedback and comments, when you explain its your company and alot of things in life now have lost personal touch, buyers have to admire that.
How i see it is, you know where they live

Yes, it is allowed. I usually deliver by hand if the address is near me, my storage unit or the route between them. I have never had an INR or A-Z arising from this. I am surprised by how often the recipient doesn’t realise that they bought from a third-party seller rather than from Amazon.
