Amazon Charge Method Glitch Leaves Sellers In The Lurch
Amazon seller central is not allowing me to access any of the area with the following message:
"Credit Card Invalid: You must update your existing credit card information or add a new credit card to regain full access to this seller account."
and then in the details it says:
"Unable to charge - Amazon is not able to charge with the listed charge methods. This could be either due to incorrect details or lack of bank’s permission for respective marketplace. => CREDIT CARDS ending in ***9 Replace"
My bank issued this new card as a replacement of old card on 8th October. Amazon has also taken a payment of $591 from the same new card last night. So there is some problem with Amazon side. If the card had any problem then Amazon could not have deducted a payment. It is a Mercury bank Mastercard Debit card.
The customer support is clueless. Emailed them again.
Anyone else facing the same issue ?

There are a lot of us with the same problem. Seems to be an Amazon based glitch that is occurring with Mastercard. I've been shut down since Oct 6th. I have a case "pending" but no love as of yet. If you have a VISA credit card, try that, I've heard that will likely solve your problem. I'm waiting on a new VISA card right now.

Amazon will not accept a debit card for the charge method on a selling account. They will charge the card for anything owing, but it still won't work to activate a selling account.
That has been the case for many many years.
However, there does seem to be a temporary problem specific to Mastercard (speculation based on user reports).
You must supply a valid credit card -- not debit. And right now, it seems that Mastercard might not be a good choice.

Around 5,500 sellers have the same issue in the last four to five weeks.

i am also using Mercury bank and have the same problem with Mastercard. My case is transferred to specialist team not heard from them

I wanted to provide you all with an update here. We are aware of the issue with cards being labeled as invalid incorrectly.
This is a systemwide issue that we are aware of and working on a priority fix for currently.
I ask that you remain as patient as possible given the circumstances, and please don't retry multiple times during this time. Please do retry verifying your card after 24 hours.
Above is all of the information we have currently. I will update this thread as soon as I hear anything further.
I realize this is extremely frustrating situation - and apologize that those impacted are experiencing this. Hoping to share good news on this as soon as possible.

Same here. I changed to "use seller account to pay for advertising". If that works I'll let you know.
