I need urgent help from Amazon moderators and other sellers regarding a very serious FBA inventory issue-Amazon disposed of £8,000 worth of our FBA inventory, despite Automated Fulfillable Settings being DISABLED and stock nowhere near 365 days old.

Hello Amazon Seller Forum,

I need urgent advice from Amazon moderators and other sellers regarding a very serious FBA inventory issue.

Amazon disposed of £8,000 worth of our FBA inventory, despite Automated Fulfillable Settings being DISABLED and stock nowhere near 365 days old

Posting this as a warning to other sellers and to get visibility, because Seller Support so far hasn't given us a satisfactory answer.

What happened:

Amazon disposed of our inventory (Removal Order ID: uQrJbWwms2) citing "inventory age for automated removal" under their aging inventory removal policy, which is supposed to apply only to stock that's been sitting in an FC for more than 365 days. Total units disposed: 857. Estimated value: £12,000.

Why this shouldn't have happened at all:

Automated Fulfillable Settings were already Disabled. Amazon's own notification says: "On the settings page, select Disable to opt out of automated removals at any time." We had this setting disabled. Screenshot proof available.

The stock was nowhere near 365 days old. Our most recent shipment of this inventory closed on 7 April 2026, nowhere close to the 365-day threshold their policy claims to enforce.

FBA15L8W695R — Closed 7 Apr 2026

All of these are well within the 365-day window. There is no reading of Amazon's own stated policy under which this stock qualified for automated removal.

We can't cancel or reverse the disposal ourselves. No self-service option exists in Seller Central to undo this once it's triggered, even when it's clearly triggered in error.

We've opened an urgent case with Seller Support laying all of this out, settings screenshot, shipment records, and the contradiction with their own stated policy, and are pushing for either reversal or full reimbursement.

Amazon has refused to cancel the disposal or reimburse for our inventory

I am asking @Spencer_Amazon and any other Amazon moderators:

Has anyone else had inventory disposed of despite having automated removals disabled? Curious if this is a wider bug on Amazon's end or isolated to our account. Will update this thread with how Seller Support responds.

Can this removal order be reviewed internally, and can we get confirmation on reimbursement for the disposed units given that both our Automated Fulfillable Settings were disabled and the stock was nowhere near the 365-day threshold?

I am not asking about how to prevent this going forward, I understand the settings involved. I am specifically asking for help either recovering this inventory or getting it reimbursed, since Seller Support has told us the disposal itself cannot be undone.

Has anyone had success getting Amazon to reimburse inventory disposed of in error like this? Any help from an Amazon moderator would be greatly appreciated.

Before the reimbursement argument, it is worth pinning down which setting actually fired, because there is more than one and they are configured separately. The automated removal you disabled covers fulfillable aged inventory. Unfulfillable units — customer returns graded as defective, damaged in the warehouse, or flagged at receiving — run on their own toggle, and on many accounts it has been left at dispose by default for years without anyone noticing.

So the first thing to establish is not whether the disposal was justified, but under which removal order it happened. Every disposal generates a removal order ID with a reason code, and that code tells you which setting authorised it. Without it you are arguing against a policy that may not be the one that was applied.

Pull the Removals report for the period and the Inventory Adjustments report for the same dates. Between them you get the removal order IDs, the disposal reason codes and the units by FNSKU. Then open a single case that states the removal order ID, the reason code, the date the corresponding setting was disabled, and the units and value affected — rather than a case describing the loss. Reimbursement claims for disposals are time-limited, so the clock matters more than the volume of correspondence.

If the reason code turns out to be a compliance or safety flag rather than an inventory setting, that is a different route entirely and reimbursement will not apply, however the settings were configured. Better to know that from the report than to find it out three weeks into a case.

I am posting here to document a serious inconsistency in the explanations I have received from Amazon regarding the disposal of my inventory under removal order uQrJbWwms2 (ASINs B0DT4X1TJR and B0DT4ZHQ71, FNSKU X0027WMNJN), which was disposed on 26 August 2026. I have opened two cases and received completely different reasons for the same disposal event, and my Seller Central disposal report shows a third reason entirely.

My Disposal Report in Seller Central lists the reason as: “Amazon‑initiated Automated Aged Fulfillable Removal System.”

Case #13280711932 states the disposal was carried out due to EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) enforcement and something referred to as the Denver program.

Case #13221725202 states the disposal was instead triggered by a mandatory capacity‑management one‑time removal, based on an old Destroy disposition in my Auto Removal Setting History.

These three explanations reference completely different operational and regulatory bases (aged inventory automation, EU regulatory enforcement, and capacity‑driven mandatory removal). Only one of these can be correct, and the contradictions suggest an internal error.

Additionally, Amazon stated in Case #13280711932 that advance notifications were sent between 23–27 August 2026, but I did not receive any notification through email, Performance Notifications, or Seller Central. I have requested proof of these notifications (timestamp, delivery channel, and delivery confirmation), as I cannot confirm that any notice was actually sent.

My Automated Fulfillable Settings were disabled at the time of disposal. When these settings are disabled, sellers should receive a notification or grace period before any mandatory removal is executed. No such notification or grace period was provided. My inventory was also not aged, as the shipments were delivered in January and April 2026, well within the 365‑day period.

Because of these contradictions and the lack of verified notification, I have requested from Amazon:

• A single, documented explanation supported by evidence

• Reimbursement of the full inventory value

• Reimbursement of the £2,300 disposal fee

• Confirmation of remaining units under the removal order and assurance that no further units will be disposed during review

I am sharing this here to see if other sellers have experienced similar contradictions or issues with mandatory removals, and to request guidance from moderators or experienced sellers on how best to escalate this matter. The two case IDs involved are #13280711932 and #13221725202.

"Regarding your request for reimbursement of the 151 disposed units: The disposal was carried out in line with the Destroy disposition recorded in your account at the time. The disposed units are not eligible for reimbursement under our policy.

Regarding the disposal fees of approximately 2,300 GBP charged to your account: The disposal fees associated with this removal order are also not eligible for reimbursement under our policy.

Regarding your request for escalation: This case has been thoroughly reviewed by our specialist team, including a full investigation of your removal order details, your account settings history, and the applicable policies. The determination provided above is final.

To help prevent this from happening in the future, we recommend updating your Auto Removal Setting History to select Return as the disposition."

So basically bend over and grease up another tale not to use FBA

• Confirmation of remaining units under the removal order and assurance that no further units will be disposed during review

I am sharing this here to see if other sellers have experienced similar contradictions or issues with mandatory removals, and to request guidance from moderators or experienced sellers on how best to escalate this matter. The two case IDs involved are #13280711932 and #13221725202.

Hello Amazon Seller Forum,

@Susie_Amazon @Manny_Amazon @Indy_Amazon @Kai_Amazon @Michelle_Amazon @Spencer_Amazon @Amyy_Amazon @Bryce_Amazon @Ezra_Amazon @Amy_Amazon @Glenn_Amazon @Jameson_Amazon @JiAlex_Amazon @Julia_Amazon @Sarah_Amzn @Julia_Amzn @Simon_Amazon @Roberto_Amazon@Spencer_Amazon
